About Greg Shirras
Environmental consultant based in Hawke's Bay, working with clients across the North Island.
I set up Shirras Environmental Solutions Limited, known to most of my clients as Shirras Enviro, in 2025 to give clients practical environmental advice that helps their projects succeed.
Before that, I spent eight years in the Consents Team at Hawke's Bay Regional Council, followed by three years as Environmental Manager for a North Island based composting company. Between them, those roles gave me a thorough understanding of how consenting and compliance work, from both sides of the table.
Today I work with forestry companies, earthmoving contractors, wastewater and drainage companies, and private clients. Resource consent applications are a big part of what I do, but I particularly enjoy projects where I can help from start to finish.
How I work
My aim is to help projects progress efficiently while maintaining good environmental outcomes. That means giving straightforward advice, being clear about what Council will need, and working together with everyone involved, from your team and contractors to Council staff, iwi and neighbours.
